Added

  • A list can have a date. When it has passed, Thank offers "See who reserved what?" and shows the names.
  • Give shows what you have spent this year, and how much on each person.
  • Planned gifts: add a gift you have in mind for someone, before it is bought.
  • Reserving from a shared link asks for your email and a first name, and nothing else until the gift is held.
  • Occasions are back, without a tab: tag a gift with an occasion while reserving or from Give; Give shows each active occasion's total; an occasion shows who you are buying for, who still needs a gift, and an optional budget; old occasions archive themselves and stay readable. Only you see your occasions.
  • Block someone: they can't find you or send requests, and they aren't told.
  • New empty screens and matching tab headers; an empty list starts with "name it, then send it".

  • If a list is deleted, gifts you reserved from it stay in your Give under "List deleted".
  • Reminder emails are off unless you turn them on.

  • Guests are told what their email is for and get a confirmation email after reserving.
  • The app no longer reads phone numbers or addresses from Contacts.
  • Prices keep their own currency, and a decimal comma works.
  • Links to friends-only lists shared from iPhone and Mac open.
  • Shared lists show straight away; requests stop waiting after 15 seconds.
  • The offline message says changes won't save until you're back online.

Added

  • Larger text sizes now work everywhere: Want, Give, Thank, Ideas, Occasions, People, a friend's page, Settings and sign-in all grow with the text size you choose in Settings. At the largest sizes a list row puts the name above the price so neither is cut off.
  • VoiceOver reads each Give stage on its own, reads the price and store on a gift, and names the email field on sign-in.
  • You can edit a gift you've reserved: change its note, the quantity, or whether it's anonymous, on iPhone, Mac and the web, at any stage.

  • "Gifts between you" counts match the gifts it lists.
  • A thanked gift no longer also says "Not thanked yet".
  • The Give header keeps the list owner's name.
  • Search explains why nothing shows for fewer than three letters.
  • Long gift and list names on Thank and Give wrap to a second line instead of being cut off on iPhone.
  • VoiceOver reads a list's title as a heading.

Added

  • Friends' lists arrive on their own: once you and someone are friends (or partners), the lists they've made visible to friends show up in your Want and in their FRIENDS' LISTS, with no need to follow each one. "Hide from Want" takes one out if you'd rather not see it there.
  • The privacy page explains who can find you: anyone signed in can look you up by name, username or exact email, and sees your first name (or username), photo and friends-visible lists, but never your email.

Changed

  • Removing a friend or cancelling a sent request now asks you to confirm first.
  • Signing up asks for your first name whenever it's missing, not only from the dashboard, and suggests a username as you type it, on both the website and the apps.
  • "Browse friends' lists" now lands you on the FRIENDS' LISTS section instead of leaving you to find it.
  • A shared list you're only visiting shows the same product link the owner sees.

Fixed

  • The People roster no longer tries to open a friend's profile using your own account.
  • A friend with no name set shows as their @username, or "A friend" if they have none, instead of reading as someone called "Someone".
  • A gift you've already bought, wrapped or given can no longer be released by mistake. Step it back to Reserved first if you really mean to let it go.
  • A friend's list that shows up in your Want through the friendship now appears on Occasions too, and can be filed under an occasion.
  • Friends' lists in Want show your friend's photo instead of an initial.
  • A hidden friend's list keeps its "Hidden from your Want" note readable when the list has an occasion.
  • Someone who isn't your friend yet and has no name set shows as "This person", and a shared list whose owner has no name shows their @username.
  • A friend's list that's in your Want through the friendship offers Hide and Show on the list itself, instead of a Following toggle.
  • The note under FRIENDS' LISTS stays true when it also holds a list you follow.
  • With no lists of your own, Want still offers "Start my first list", even when a friend's list is there.
  • Empty Want and Give start right under the title, with no gap.
  • Lists count "wishes" everywhere, including a person's page and Me.
  • A friend you've saved under a name shows that name on People as well as on their page.
  • Settings shows your name the same way Me does.
  • A sent request reads "Friend request · pending" on every device.
  • Initials on People are no longer tinted blue.
  • The list name in a Give group header no longer gets cut off, and the time on a Thank row stays on one line.
  • Thank dates a gift by the day it was given, not the day it was reserved.
  • Contacts search on Mac works again. A missing permission had quietly blocked it since 1.0.5.

Added

  • Share to Wishlist: on iPhone and Mac, share a product page from Safari or any other app and choose Wishlist. You'll see its name and photo, pick a list, and it's saved without opening the app.
  • Gift reminders: if you reserved a gift and haven't marked it bought, Wishlist reminds you once, a week before the occasion. The iPhone and Mac apps send a notification; if you only use the website, it comes by email. Turn reminders off in Preferences, or in Settings on Mac.
  • On a shared list, guests can start their own wishlist from a link on the page.
  • If you reserved a gift as a guest without keeping an account, you can come back to the list, confirm your email with a code, and let the gift go.

Changed

  • Signing in on iPhone and Mac uses a 6-digit code sent to your email, the same as the website, so you never leave the app. Apple Mail can fill the code in for you.
  • Deleting your account also deletes the photos you uploaded, unless another list still uses the same photo.
  • Reserve and Release buttons on shared lists are bigger, and pressing Return sends your email or code.
  • The Mac app keeps Give, Occasions, Thank and People loaded instead of reloading them each time you switch.
  • Settings only show options that do something.
  • The website's colours always match the theme you picked, on every device.

Fixed

  • Updating the app no longer signs you out.
  • Reserving a gift shows one confirmation, not two.
  • On the Mac, a shared list link opens the whole list instead of a thin strip.
  • If you're offline, the app tells you an edit didn't save instead of saying it will sync later.
  • The store, notes and purchase date on gifts you add by hand now stay with your account on every device.
  • A mistyped shared link shows a proper page, and "See their other lists" appears again.
  • An occasion budget stays attached when you rename the occasion, and unlinking a partner stops sharing gifts you added by hand.

Added

  • A quick way to tell us how Wishlist is going: tap one of five faces and add a note if you like. It comes straight to the person who makes Wishlist. You'll be asked now and then once you've been using the app for a while, and Send feedback is always in Preferences on iPhone and the website, and in Settings on Mac.
  • Wishlist now keeps a record of what happens in the app, like a list created or a gift reserved, tied to your account but never to your name or email, so we can see which parts get used. The privacy policy explains what is kept.

Fixed

  • If you start signing in on getwishlist.app and tap the emailed link on a device that has the app, the sign-in now finishes in your browser instead of opening the app. The iPhone and Mac apps get this fix in version 1.0.5.

Added

  • Reserving a gift is one tap. The sheet stays open afterwards so you can add a note, change the quantity or hide your name, and each choice saves as you make it.
  • People can be its own tab on iPhone, chosen in Preferences under Features. The bar holds five tabs, and the Features sheet says so when it is full instead of offering a sixth.
  • The Mac app gains a Me screen at the foot of the sidebar, with your profile, your sharing links and the friends you follow.
  • Occasions from lists you follow now show on the Occasions tab, in their own section below your own.
  • Thank-you drafting on the website offers the same eight tones and four lengths as the iPhone and Mac apps, and produces the same wording.
  • The walkthrough at getwishlist.app/tutorial can be read without an account.
  • Name an occasion and attach several lists to it in one pass on the website, from the Occasions screen, the way the apps already do.
  • Sign in with a link emailed to you, with a one-time code kept as a fallback for whenever a link is not convenient.
  • A Terms page laying out how the service works, and a Report link wherever a shared list, item or profile shows someone else's content.
  • Occasion dates are suggested from the occasion's name and are yours to edit or clear, and lists with no occasion show in a plain row you can assign from.
  • Sharing gift reservations with a partner works end to end, one partner per account, with an unlink confirmation and, on the website, a switch to see just your own gifts or your partner's too.
  • Creating an account on the website now asks you to agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy first. As of 6 September 2026 the iPhone and Mac apps do not ask yet; the consent screen is written and ships with their next build.

Changed

  • Reservations are no longer anonymous unless you ask for it. Your name shows on the list owner's thank-you screen by default.
  • The gift status picker on the website offers the same four stages as the apps: Reserved, Purchased, Ready and Given.
  • Occasion cards in the apps show the same committed spend as the website, to the cent.
  • A friend's list, and any list opened from a share link, is drawn in that list's own colours instead of yours.
  • Marking a thank-you sent on iPhone or Mac now asks how you thanked them and who it came from, the way the website does. With no partner on the account it records your own name.
  • New List, New Occasion, Add Friend, Edit List, Add Gift, Log a Gift and Move Items are proper Mac windows with Mac forms instead of phone sheets.
  • On a phone the tab strip wraps to its own row so no tab label is cut off, and occasions are full rows with a countdown instead of a bare list.
  • Plainer wording on the occasion budget and add-person screens, fewer separators in the small print, and no repeated explanations under labels that already say it. The empty People screen draws plain silhouettes instead of rows with readable placeholder names, and Preferences on each platform now says where the settings it does not carry actually live.
  • The privacy policy now says that picking a contact also reads their postal address and birthday where you have them saved, and which of those the app keeps.
  • Following a list now follows who the list is shared with. A private list cannot be followed, and making a list private hides it again from everyone who followed it while it was visible.
  • A device that isn't signed in keeps one assigned colour instead of drifting between whichever account last used it, on the sign-in screen, the welcome screen and the features screen.
  • Empty screens now show the icon of the tab they're on, with warmer wording, instead of an outline drawing of what the screen would look like full.
  • A gift with no photo shows an icon that matches what it actually is, drawn from a much larger and more accurate set, instead of a plain gift box or an emoji that missed.
  • The privacy page was corrected to match what the app actually does, share links are generated more securely, and an address meant only for admins is no longer sent to every visitor's browser.
  • One list-icon set and one add-a-gift form across the website and both apps, so an icon or a field you can pick on one you can pick on all three.
  • Dialogs on desktop web no longer wear phone-sized chrome, and Occasions, gift entry and the inspector panel on the Mac lay out as proper desktop windows.
  • The Mac app icon is sharp at every size it appears, and Occasions, People and Me use the full desktop layout there too.

Fixed

  • "You're Offline" no longer stays up after the connection comes back, and no longer covers the back button.
  • Preferences closes when you sign out, instead of hanging over the sign-in screen.
  • A swipe along the gift card row scrolls it instead of opening the card you started on.
  • Picking a contact on iPhone no longer closes the Add Friend sheet underneath it. The contacts buttons are gone from the Mac app, where the system never grants access.
  • Create and edit dialogs on the website no longer wash the whole panel in the palette colour, the app icon picker no longer shows Preferences through it, and buttons that painted transparent now show their colour.
  • Visiting your own public profile lands on your profile instead of an error message.
  • A gift reserved by somebody without an account now reaches the list owner's thank-you screen, under the address they verified, so the owner can thank them.
  • The Mac's Move Items window shows the lists you can move to, instead of a blank strip, and its display name field is no longer a black slab.
  • The product link box and the gift card box no longer go muddy on the palettes whose accent and background are different colours, a gift with no picture shows the same icon everywhere it appears, and gift cards no longer clip at the right edge of a phone screen.
  • Signing in survives installing an app update, instead of signing you out.
  • Switching tabs quickly no longer flashes a black screen while the tab's first load finishes.
  • Opening the app goes straight to what you last saw instead of a loading screen first.
  • The Finish-your-profile chips on Me now open the right editor when you tap them.
  • A note you add when logging a received gift is saved instead of dropped.
  • A washed-out background on the Mac is fixed to match the iPhone.

  • Gift cards. A list can hold gift cards alongside wishes and stocking stuffers, in a section of their own.
  • Type a shop's name to add one. Shops the app knows arrive in their own colours and lettering, anything else gets a monogram, and you can add several in a row.
  • Reserving on the website can be shared with your partner, as it already could in the apps, and desktop web gains a read-only full view of an item from the list inspector.

Changed

  • One name per action across all three apps. Logging a received gift is "Log a gift" everywhere, and the website's tabs sit in the same order as the Mac's sidebar.
  • Ideas and Occasions are two independent switches in Mac settings, and the sidebar hides whichever you turn off.
  • One set of motion timings across the website, iPhone and Mac, and every animation honours Reduce Motion.
